Qwen, also known as Qianwen, is a large-scale language model independently developed by Alibaba Cloud's Tongyi Lab. It is designed to understand and generate human-like text across a wide range of topics and languages. Trained on a vast amount of internet text, Qwen can answer questions, create written content such as stories, official documents, emails, scripts, and more, as well as perform logical reasoning, programming, express opinions, and even play games.
Qwen supports multiple languages, including but not limited to Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, making it suitable for international use. The model series includes various versions—such as Qwen-Max, Qwen-Plus, and Qwen-Turbo—tailored for different application scenarios in terms of performance, speed, and cost.
