Following the debut of Panstone 100, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has also launched the "Jingshi 100" model system, specifically focused on the platformization of AI in life sciences and medicine. This system aims to provide a standardized infrastructure for biological modeling, drug discovery, and genomic analysis.
Jingshi 100 features specialized kernels for protein folding simulations and metabolic pathway analysis. By providing a unified platform, CAS hopes to eliminate the "Silo Effect" where different research teams develop incompatible models. The system allows for the seamless sharing of data and models across different laboratories, creating a more cohesive national scientific ecosystem.
The launch is part of a broader "AI for Science" initiative in China, which views high-performance computing and large-scale modeling as critical pillars of national competitiveness. Jingshi 100 is already being used in pilot programs to identify potential treatments for rare diseases and to optimize agricultural crop yields through genetic modeling.
